The Ahti-puukko's blade is carbon steel, or sometimes stainless steel. Thanks to the excellent quality of these steels, these knives keep their sharpness very long and are also easy to sharpen.
Dry and clean your knife after use. Cooking with oil, for example, protects the carbon steel blade from rust. Sharpen your knife on a regular basis, a totally blunt blade is difficult to re-sharpen.
The wooden handle is not designed for the dishwasher. Ahti-puukko is traditionally made in the city of Kauhava in Ostrobothnia, Finland. "
